Clay and J.P. were in the backyard this afternoon, up to their necks in dirt. Imagine that. Any of you who have boys know how they play. I happened to snap a few shots of them. I am trying to practice shooting and processing RAW images right now, so bear with a few more family and/or mundane snaps as I work on getting better at understanding the process. :o)
RAW converted to .tiff with RawShooter Essentials (minor color temperature and sharpness edits), then opened with PS 6. Converted to b/w with Power Retouche, also used the Power Retouche contrast filter as well. Cropped, resized, USM.
Really a nice natural pose. For some reason, the background to the right is a tad distracting to me. I like the use of black and white. The lighting is very natural.
Everytime I look at his sweet face it makes me smile. I keep having this nagging thing in the back of my mind going...who does he look like? I finally figured it out! He reminds me of what, I think, a little Tim McGraw would look like. :)
Wow! I love this shot. The DoF and his expression! You could probably do a dozen different styles of editing on this and make a variety of very cool portraits. Great job - you're awesome.
