Nice apples....I like the lighting on them in particular. I'm not sure that this would be an appealing photo out of the context of the challenge though. The border is strange.

Whew! Almost did a very similar image! I don't know if you meant this, but the apples being round enhance the "pi-ness" of the image. Nice lighting and focus, too.
