 Last minute photo of my dog and cat snuggling together on the dog blanket.

Used Photoshop. Did a crop, cloned in a bit more of the dark blue blanket, brighten it up, toned down the hot spot, and did unsharp mask. That's it.

The poses complement one another, but somehow this still feels too much like a snapshot to me.

Very cute! My dog and cat get along but don't sleep together. I think cause puppy is too squirmy. Perhaps taken more towards thier level from the right rather than a bird's eye view to make it more portrait-like. ?

Very hard exposure which you did a good job on, but the background really lets this down. Quality of the light doesn't help in creating a mood.

white balance? is it all too blue? cute scene but not a cute photo - what if you crop it into a portrait orientation and discard the left half of the photo which is only butts - might make the mood of their faces stand out more?
