I love insect macros. brilliant! good crop as well but too bad that beige is showing up on the bottom left. I would have cropped that out. Keep the insect macros coming!

Superb photo of beauty & th beast - what an ugly insect !

That's either one really big fly or a very small flower. Great shot!

how lucky can you get to do this shot. I don't know anyone that has a trained pet fly.

Awesome macro, the shallow DOF does a lot for this image, especially considering the sharpness of the flower and the fly. Good job!Message edited by author 2003-04-14 07:19:20.

I don't like flies, but good shot. nice color. I like the boarder and DoF. (8)

Beautiful, and, I forgive you for the flower shot :) Just kidding! Cliche done right. At least it's a fly, not a bee.

Simply beautiful, even the fly.

Awesome flower, great focus, colors, great that the background sets off the white petals. Not sure about the insect though :O( Kind of distracts from the "Color" theme, my eyes keep focusing in it (kind of an ugly thing, too!) instead of the great colors in tne center of the flower.

May not be a useful comment but, this is a wonderful shot.

If that fly would have been colorful you would have won this one! Great shot though - a true master of the macro.

Like that spring green center and gradient purple on the flower...but my focus veers to that ugly bug. Good shot.

Personally, I wish I had your eye for nature. 9.

Lol, one of the less exotic insects to find on a flower, nice catch nonetheless. Also very good dof

This is a very nice macro indeed. Great detail and the colour of the centre of the flower sets it off. Very well done.

The colours in this picture are subtly and lovely, and super shot of the fly. The yellow pollen dusting the flower petals and the contrast of colours is great.

Nice macro, good composition. the fly is very original compared to all the bees.

That my friend is a awsome shot

Impressive detail on the fly - the black is actually the best colour on display here! Border is a little thick for me though.

I love this picture. The detail in the fly is cool, even if he is kind of gross looking. Gorgeous flower.

Great use of the rule of thirds... and fantastic color! Receding focus on the flower really draws my attention back to the main subject. --10
