As I mentioned in an earlier challenge....sometimes I'm an idiot :)
Yeah, it's fishing line. No, it didn't really hurt. The lines lasted on my face for about 3 hours afterwards [thumb]175758[/thumb]
I was going to shoot this anyway, just cuz I had the idea to do it and I thought it would be funny. Then the moods challenge came up and it seemed to fit, so the timing was nice. I actually intend to do a whole series like this, but not just faces; whole bodies and stuff all bound with fishing line. I'll post them if I ever get around to it.
*edit: 65 comments and 10 faves so far with a day to go before the challenge ends...that's way more important than a ribbon, which is cool because i'm quite certain this one won't win one. I had a riot shooting it. thanks for all the great comments so far.

i really admire your creativity and the intriguing simplicity of your shots. i browsed your photos and i especially love your portraits. well done! *fave photographer*
Well, this is actually the 10th time I look at this photo ;) Now its time to say, even though you do not need any more comments, that its fabulous. I really admire the "pain" you went through! Too bad you did not get 1th place!
Congrats! Good work. I just really wish I would learn to think of stuff like this. Like scalvert says, it's a great way to keep your head from getting too big :)
Disturbed by Pedro, (Peter Marlin), was an excellent entry challenge.
Pedro is very imaginative and skilled at finding ways to enter the DPChallenges. And through his own admission, he states that he thought that this photo would not win him a ribbon.
Like all unique artists, you make art for your own challenges and hope others will agree with your work. If this disturbs anyone, how about the nudes that appear every once in a while in our forums and challenges.
Holy moly, this is incredible. Somehow I recognized you, which I can't believe. Well, I'm growing my hair back now...I wanted to be like you...but this new fishing line craze is just too much to keep up with. I'd love to see other shots from these experiments if you have them somewhere.
this calls for a celebration amigo!!! 21 faves as I type this. i am a rank higher than you but i am quite positive that you will beat me on faves. well-deserved. congrats.
A masterful execution done to perfection. Here you have outdone yourself and setting a new bench mark. Great work and congratulations on your yellow. This image caught my attention at once.
Really cool picture... very twisted...the texture of the skin is truly wonderful, nice dramatic light...so psychotic. What really makes this so disturbing is how the subject is addressing the viewer with his eyes...the kind of stare that appears to follow you around the room ( I actually got up and walked around the room I'm in to test this theory) just a really effective picture...EXCELLENT!
This is truly disturbing. My guess is that he wrapped himself in string and then took it off for the picture. For an essay on mood this is dynamite. (Could also go in the dreams challenge as a nightmare.) Makes me shudder.
Wow! Really captivating. I could tell just from the thumbnail that this was a creative and moving shot. Wonderful lighting and impecable focus. Great cropping and nice frame. 10 (+)
Is the model or the photographer disturbed? This image disturbs me. Which is what it is meant to do I guess. The eyes cut right through me. I'm sure it will do well.
WOW what a fun shot!! Lighting is great, very crisp, and perfect composition. I can oly guess you used thread to get the bizare effect on the face. One of my top 3 picks this challenge. So great a shot I had to push the DQ button to beleive it. I realy hope to see a ribbon beside this one when the voting ends 9 !!!
Man, is that monofilament fishing line? That has to hurt being pulled tight..enough said about pain: this is great! I love the expression in the eyes, and the hard light from right is perfect; left side of frame in blackness works as the face just slides away into the darkness. . creativity plus!...9
Fantastic shot... terrific lighting and use of negative space, in all serious, this is probably a little TOO disturbing to win over the masses and the blue, but you've got my first ten of the challenge.
More than disturbed, this picture transmit to me a feeling of being trapped. Very shocking picture, very creative and wonderfully executed ... I specially like the depth of the eyes, that trap my attention and doesnt' let me go.
Nice scarey shot, a little more light on the left perhaps. Hope that didn't hurt, and if it's a self portrait, I hope I don't meet u in a dark alley lol.
I find this photo a little bit disturbing if I may be honest, it´s very powerful and I don´t really "like" it in the normal sense but I gave it a very high score due to the fact that it affects me. Wouldn´t be surprised to see this end up close to the top or even on top. I especially like the lighting and the composition.
Wow if this isn't "disturbed", nothing is! Just fantastically and deliciously gruesome. Masterful use of lighting to maximize the utilization of shadows. Intense. 10
This was somewhat disturbing. Not sure what to make of it, but like the b & w and one side of his face in shadow. I think that adds to the disturbing quality of the picture.
10 Not only did I just see all the Hannibal re-runs this weekend but I'm reading a spooky book!! This is so ....bizzare that I can't look away. :) Fantastic light, focus.
Ouch!!! I would say you captured the mood of 'disturbed' rather well. The hard shadows really work to your advantage here. This is a very unique and gritty image. Artistic even!
this is brilliant
I take you have bound the face with that invisible magicians cotton... how long did it take for the marks to go
I think it needs a bit of space above the head at the top...but still a 10 from me
Hey pet-ah
Good choice with this one, same your eye was so dark on the other one.
Either way, your getting in the top 10 and possibly a medal. I guarantee it baby
