Taken while driving through the wildlife refuge near Monte Vista, Colorado. It was close to sunset and the sun looked pretty shining on the cattails. The water of the marsh turned into a nice blue behind.

this image looks like you took this inside and shot it with a Tungsten light. Is this correct? I feel the colors are warm, perhaps a change in White balance, or a color shift is in order.
No, not correct. This picture was taken outside just before sunset. The last rays of the sun are catching on the cattail and the water of the marsh is in dark bokeh behind.

This has a wonderful feel to it. For this challenge, I'd like to see a little more negative space, perhaps with the top of the cattail just barely reaching beyond the halfway point of the frame. Minimalism aside, though, this would otherwise be a very strong composition.
Very nice. I'm not quite sure what it is (some kind of plant? partially shredded cat-tail with a metal spike in it?), but that's offset a bit by the very nice color contrast and texture of the fibers.
