Great lighting. How could you make it better in my oppinion...hmmm.. put a white board infront of the rings so you can't see the reflections and back up a little so I can see more of the rings. Good luck.
I like the saturation of blue in the ring. the clarity is good. maybe the light could have been muffled with a white sheet of paper just to keep the glare off a bit. 7
Aw Man! Where's the 300 ring? ;^) This is a fun photo. Very shallow DOF to have the 299 in focus and not the 298? Too bad you couldn't get a different angle to eliminate the reflection (of the table edge?) visible on the bottom of both stones. Good luck in the challenge.
At this magnification, some of the details were lost resulting in a bit of a harsh image.
Perhaps neat image (or similar noise reduction software) could have helped smooth the gold surfaces, yielding a softer image i my opinion.
Good lighting & sharp focus, would have preferred a whiter background (seems a bit yellowy) But the vibrant blue jewel really draws my eye. Very slight purple fringing on the highlights, but thats no biggy! Nice shot
