Adjusting the curves or levels during processing might have been able to turn the background a little blacker. The harsh lighting on the scissors detracts from the photo. Good composition though, and yes, this is creative.
Okay, the paper boat sailing in a sea of rocks is cute, but the presence of the scissors seems forced, and the shot is blurry. I would have suggested perhaps painting a flag with the symbol of a scissors instead, and then going for a better focused shot, perhaps at a smaller aperture.
