I like your rock idea. Work on improving the composition for more zing. I don't know what it might be but I bet you can get a better shot.

well at least it isn't a regular river rock like the other images. I think you would have faired better if you'd just shot the ring, with maybe the paper behind it. Your lighting seems ok for that and you could have probably gotten right down to it to show some detail and bling. Good DOF.

another great idea I like the "rock" but the light coming from the scissors is distracting and takes away from the ring.

Didn't know we had a jewelry shot coming up did ya? Well, this was good practice! Well done, but I might have tried the paper between ring and scissors for a little more definition of the ring.
