Camera: Canon PowerShot G2
Location: Portland, OR

Shutter: 1/50
Date Uploaded: Apr 17, 2005

Taken at 6:59 this morning, just before the start of the the Portland Race for the Roses (race4theroses.org). Everyone is getting cold waiting the starting horn to blow.

Increased contrast, reduced brightness, applied sharpen filter, reduced size and added 2 pixel black border.

I had another shot I liked a lot that just features the two wheelchair racers, but this photo says "people" to me more.

In retrospect I wished I had cropped out more of the red carpet start line. My pics from after the race started were not as interesting.

On your marks get set go. I would have waited to the actual start of the race this would have given more of an intense action about to begin shot.

Hopefully there is a GO soon cause most of them look a little cold, I'll guess and say this might be the Boston Marathon? Nice group candid over all ... good job!
