Selected teh tack, inverted, used curves to even, smooth, and brighten the background.
Use a bit of clone to get rid of a bright spot (one of these days I will use something besides a cheap flashlight to light these things!)
cropped, rotated, flipped, mirrored
saturated the colors
softened the gum base
sharpened the tack (hahahaha)

There are no tacks in this image. ;) That blob of gum is gross. I hate scraping it off my shoe. Couldn't imagine getting it stuck on my head. The detail in the stretched part of the gum is excellent. I think the DOF could have been a little larger to get everything more in focus. Composition works well. 7 from me. Good luck!
