I remembered the expression "getting down to brass tacks" and decided I better enter a challenge. I had to desaturate a lot of purple fringe though. Hope it's not too messy a shot.

(1) COMPOSITION (CONTENT) Well composed. The diagonal lines of grass really draw the eye into the frame. This along with the strong use of rule of thirds makes a powerful composition. You have also use the other "rule of thirds" by having 3 tacks in the scene, and have added additional depth by cutting a couple of them on the edges of the frame. The longer one looks at it, the more interesting details come to light. This is a photograph that would not do as well in a thumbnail view, as many of the really interesting details are lost.
(2) BACKGROUND I like the use of a shallow DOF as it isolated the subject.
(3) CAMERA WORK ,TECHNICAL Exposure is good. Composition is very strong.
(4) DIGITAL PROCESSING ,TECHNICAL The colors seem a bit muted and I wonder what could be changed by increasing the contrast and playing with the saturation a little bit.
(5)MEETING THE CHALLENGE This photo does a very good job of meeting the challenge.
(6) MY OPINION ON THE PHOTO I love the textures in this photograph. This is a photo that gets more interesting the longer you look at it.
Strange composition. Rhymes with Brass. Like the white ones better. Interesting arrangement. Bet you spent some time getting the grass to arranged just so. Very well done. And you used real tacks! 9 for composition and originality.
