A picture of my 14 month old's size 5.5 baby Vans. I liked this effect because at first glance it almost looks like it is sitting on a mirror, but it is not. I deliberately made some differences in the top and bottom shoe.
It is lit from the natural light coming in through the window on the right, thus a slightly overexposed spot on that side of the picture, I think.

Composition: The composition of this image is very good. The spacing around the shoes works well. I really like the mirror style effect you created.
Technical Quality: Technically the shot is ok, but could probably be improved slightly. The lighting is a little harsh, but nothing too serious. The focus looks a bit blurry - did you try sharpening the image to define some of the edges.
Meeting the Challenge: I really like your approach to the challenge. Your decision to make the shoes different was very wise - otherwise it would look like a shoe on a mirror (making for a rather boring photo). The shoelace was a good decision, the tab at the back probably wasn't necessary, but certainly isn't a problem.
Creativity: Again, a reflected shoe is a pretty boring subject. But a pretend reflection with an obvious difference was very smart. It's the kind of photo that if hung on a wall would have people look at it thinking "why photo that" until they realised the humour in it.
Border: The border is nice and subtle. Good job.
Overall: I really like the concept in this photo. It isn't technically perfect, with the focus being my main distraction. Good work on a very amusing photo.
This was one of my top three choices for this challenge.
The quality of this image plus the deliberate joke poking fun at the "symmetry" theme was hilarious and incredibly well done. It has just the right amount of a warped sense of humor.
Heh, had me fooled until I saw the untied lace!
Nice shot, and a nice trick. Shame the backdrop is showing slightly but it doesn't spoil it too much.
Well done.
What a cool image!! Excellent symmetry shot. I really like how the top laces are tied up and the bottom is undone. I had to look twice lol. Overall the lighting, composition and choice of subject is awesome. Very well achieved and GL in this weeks challenge. 10:)
At first glance I thought it was another mirror reflection shot. The use of the tied and untied shoe makes the symmetry pop. Focus could have been sharper.
Very nice and very interesting image. You must have had fun making it appear at first glance to be a reflection then including purposeful clues to show it is not. You poke fun at the symmetry theme and it realy works well.
