Akabana Mitsumata, a plant originating in China, in Kita no Maru Park. The scientific name is Edgeworthia chrysantha cv Sanguinea. One website calls it a giant leaf paper plant (I guess the leaf is giant as the plant is really a large bush), and the dictionary says it belongs to the daphne family. I must be related to it, because I had an aunt called Daphne.
