I've been trying to learn and pick up tips from this site as much as possible and finally found the nerve to post a photo of my own. It was nice to get a clean shot of him keeping still for a change. The only editing I did was a bit of sharpening.

Awww, what a face! This shot has great potential, take the dog, remove the distracting background (mostly the building or make it all brick building) and get a different light source other than the flash to fill i or the direct sunlight (not quite sure which is in use here) and you have a great contender. As is a 5 :)
Great looking dog and a nice close shot. The flash was a bit bright, so you might want to darken the shot to keep it from being washed out. Otherwise, really nice photo.
