Thank you all for your awesome comments and support! I am thrilled with my placing for this challenge, only the second challenge that I have taken part in. Watch this space!
I was lucky to capture this 'smiling' moment. The model is my cat Bandit. Always a willing and patient model.

What an awesome kitty! You can tell you are a true animal lover! Bandit should meet my flat faced calico, Callie sometime! She sat for the Portrait challenge for me a while back. I chopped off part of her ear in the photo but redid the shot with all of her. People think she is pretty but the vet says she looks like Oscar the Grouch! I think she is UNIQUE!
Hi! I just love this picture, I look at it alot...I actually have it saved as a favorite...I just makes me smile...now if I could only line up my 3 felines and get them to say cheese...one can dream can't they? Thanks for such a great picture! :}
"i wish you wouldnt keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly, you make one quite giddy."
"all right", said the cat, and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.
awesome, this is a real-deal cheshire cat if i have have seen one. :)
This is a cool cat and caught him perfectly!That is cool and I like it so much I could just laugh out loud all day! LOL! I think that you could have got a higher place though.
One of my few 10s. An awsome catch. Cats simply do not do this! And great angle and shape contrast with the background oof texture. I agree esp with graphicfunk's comments (as usual :)
I'm still laughing at this cat. As soon as this challenge was over I immediately scanned through the pictures to see where you had rated. What is different about this one versus the posed pictures is that this is an original. Even if it is a little out of focus, I still think it is great. One of my favourites, that's for sure.
This expression alone deserves a ribbon. The photojournalist captures the image the best he can. Sometimes we catch an image which falls short on the technical side. Well, this is a portrait challenge, but I would have gone with this exact image in place of a slicker one. Well, you have made an exceptional capture here and I congratulate you for it.
Now, here is an image that is not technically correct, yet the projection is amazing because of the funny expression. I can not overstress the power of this image. It is at once my favorite for this challenge. Bump! And another bump.
Very cute, very funny, made me laugh out loud, literally. I'm guessing you burned around the edges to create the vinette feeling, doesn't really work for me, I would rather have the coloration and lights. The darkened areas end up competing for my attention. For humor you would win hands down, but I'm feeling a 6 here, might be back to bump it up :)
