Well think about a family portrait. Would they all be situated behind a wall with only the top of their heads showing? Probably not but I'm sure stranger has happened.

Portraiture is pretty straightforward by definition. Bending a little is always fine but the more you bend the better the photo has to be to compensate. IMHO.

This is my second go around =) - so cute!!! Not really a portrait, but still should do very well! I love your idea! Your kitty's colors also look very "camaflouge" so this picture really fits him/her. Great idea!

I thought this was very different and worth a 9. sonetimes outside the square works and this one does for me.

How adorable! I love calico kitties and this one is no exception though I would like to see more of it! :) Cute idea, nice candid but the tree in the middle is very distracting, maybe if you cropped more on the right, making the tree the right edge, taking the kitty just off center but with my magic envelopes, it looks very nice. Had at a 5 but am going to bump to a 6 for cuteness and nice capture!

I think that the kitty is overwhelmed by the surroundings. This kitty should be the subject, but is too small in this shot to have a chance.
