 This is Cody, one of two American Cocker Spaniels at home. I gingerly came over to her, while she was supposely napping, I took the photo, and got this "look". It's telling me to stop bothering with that "Damn" camera. And for the last time I am not posing for you. It was not the look of "love".
Photoshops editing done for color, USM, Cropping, resize, and some minor cloning of the rug.

Returning for comment. Great pose/look! Good clarity too. I think a tighter crop would bring this a higher score (and a larger post--use closer to the 640 maximum in the longest dimension).

This is my second go-around =) - Awh... what a cutie! I think we can all relate to getting "the look" from our dogs =) haha. I think your pup's eye was dodged too much... it looks too light and the contrast is really low on it (the pupil shoudl be black. I think that is very distracting since the eyes are normally the focus of a portrait... people tend to look at the eyes first. Otherwise, I really like your idea for the contest and I think you overall did really good =)
