 Going for the 4's. I liked this shot due to the contrast and the simple defiance of the little shoot growing out of the place where a limb was removed.

I thought that this was an interesting and different take on the challenge - I am surprised it did not score higher. I like the composition in particular. I agree that there is a slight focus/sharpness issue on the top leaves, but very slight.

Nice focus, nice lighting, nice balance in the composition. This is to me, a "good" photo, but it does not draw a 'gasp' or "OOoooo".
