Lighting is too harsh, looks like you used the flash. If its possible with your camera, try bouncing the flash of a wall, or ceiling.

cute girl! I only would suggest that she was placed further away from the background so you would not have those distracting shadows. Other than that cute photo!

The expression on this little girl's face is a hoot. She's got boredom down. Like the highlights on her hair, but wish the overall lighting was better. If her eyes were lit up more, this photo would have been even better.
