This takes on a "fetish" type shot. I agree about his expression....maybe had he been gazing upward? And the brown furry rug doesn't really go with this, IMHO.
This is a potentially really great idea.... that facial expression however ruins it - just looks unnatural. As usual though, there's some great shots in your post.
