A shot of my father's old pocket watch. You don't see them very often and just watching the gears turn is somewhat interesting. Taken on a mirror to make the gray sky appear behind. No sun or exciting skyline to reflect for this shot. Cropped, slightly rotated and boosted the contrast a bit.

Greets from the Critque Club:
Oh sure.. give me a tough one to critique!
This is a really good concept and I like most of the execution. The crispnesss of the watch contrasts nicely with the softness of the trees behind. My only nitpick is the reflection of the clock gives away the illusion for me and I can't suspend my disbelief.
Other than that it is a great photo with no technical flaws - It's well exposed and the composition is great.
Wow. Amazing effect with the reflection surrounding the clock. Beautiful timepeice, and very well composed. Great lighting. Cant suggest any improvements. Really well done!
I really like the contrasts here, the monotone background and the bright color of the fob watch are great, I do not understand the caption in relation to the shot, but well done anyway
Wonderful composition and lovely idea. The result is a superb image. I can't think of any suggestions for improvement. Sorry. This must be the perfect photo. 10
Okay, it's been several days and I still can't think of any suggestions for improvement. It truly is the perfect photograph. Consider me now your disciple. I kneel at your feet to learn O' Wise One.
What a stand-out image. I love the contrast between the NATURAL stark wintry tree reflections (nd the LEAVING leaves whosing their own count on chronology) on (the glass table top ?) and the warmth of the CULTURAL pocket-watch.
It looks even BETTER if you stand back from it a bit....
Not absoluely rigidly sure about the positioning because the chain going off shot nags me to follow it but I can't..... Nevertheless I think this would make a great advertising poster and give a 9/10.
Is your clock running? Better go catch it! This has the absolute best composition I have ever seen! I am intrested in seeing how you took this photograph, did you use a mirror or glass? ... 10
this is a beautiful composition... i think the overall image would be even stronger without the tree reflections... they seem to distract me a little from your subject.. - setzler
