great picture, but i don't see boredom in it. in another challenge i would have given it an 8, but in this category a 5.

Why would this shot convey boredom? Don't get me wrong - technically this shot is good, and if entered in a wildlife challenge, it could do well. This gull looks angry and alert to me, not bored.
