 This is a reworked image from the Ansel Adams challenge. I took so many shots this day that this one got lost in the shuffle. Personally, I feel it's a much stronger image than what I submitted in that there is much more foreground to anchor the shot. But that's life. :-)

I love this shot. Even though I didn't vote on the Ansel Adams challenge. I like this one much better than your entry. Truly a beautiful capture.

I agree with your assessment, the landscape layout is stronger.

And just two more comments:

1. Fantastic processing job -- I really like it.

2. Perhaps the branches on the right should be cropped out.
