I am in my first Photojournalism course at the University of North Texas. This was a class trip to downtown Dallas. A traveling exhibit, called "Eyes Wide Open", came through for a couple days. It is a memorial for the American troops and Iraqi civilians who haven fallen in the war. That's what the boots in the background symbolize. These two men were homeless men but also Marine Corps veterans who were there observing. They wanted their picture taken, I did not actually ask them to.
