The image shows a bit of the jaggies along some edges. The clouds on the left lack detail and are overexposed. Overall it is a nice scene and good picture. I suspect the lower score is not so much because of the picture itself, but because it was not "surreal" enough for the challenge to some voters. I scored it 6.
Coming from the "Want Comments?" thread. You're probably fed up with "doesn't meet the challenge" type comments, especially since the challenge is over, but I'm curious what your take on this was in terms of surrealism. It is a lovely photo, and I like the interplay of shadow and light. You exposed the sky and the snow perfectly, which isn't an easy task, so A+ there.
I guess I didn't fully understand the meaning of surrealism - I thought that a landscape, if done properly, could be surreal - I thought I had the best image I could for the challenge anyway

I would like to see more sky in this and maybe bring that highest peak to the left more. I see you entered this in the surreal challenge. If you would have entered this into the AA Challenge or a challenge more fitting then I think you would have done a lot better. Although an average vote of 4.870 is still good at this website. You have an eye for this stuff.
This is a gorgeous shot of the mountains. Im not sure if i understand why its surreal, but i love this picture its beautiful. The image of the sky is just awesome, I love the lighting.
Beautiful...stunning...absolutely wonderful photo. not surrealism. Any other challenge and you'd have a winner. If you had oranges, telephones, and an ocean flowing into the sky with monkeys playing with severed chicken heads, while eating rocks, with those mountains in the background, you'd have surrealism. Shit, I'd buy a print though.
Occasionally I am inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt. But this photo is so perfect for last week's Ansel Adam's challange and so irrellevant to this one, I must score it low. The only thing 'surreal' about it is that it appears here. It is a pretty photo and would score reasonably well in some other challenge.
