This is really great! I think it's a great use of B/W and I love how the ground is sloping down left and the trees are looming up right. Very good composition.
I really like the composition, the way that the sapling is nestled between the old trees. The tree on the left does not look as sharply focussed as it could be.
oh man ... I had this exact shot..didn't use it went with something else. This is well done.... hard to make a line of trees interesting... you have achieved it.
I usually prefer seeing tall, strong trees in middle of an empty field, but this little one trying to grow surrounded by taller trees inspires a lot of courage and strength also. Good depth of field. I would have cropped a little more on the right and maybe show a bit more on top of the small tree. I am not very credible on judging and comparing to Ansel Adams work since I do not know him very well, but it sure is very contrasty, but lacking a bit of the "landscape" aspect. Good job.
