This was a lot of fun and inspired by Adams' "Road after the Rain"
The original shot was in daylight taken in the morning as I arrived at the club I run in Wisconsin. It had snowed but it was wet and slushy. The plough had been round the drive and there were puddles and reflections as well as wet snow sticking to trees and shrubs. In post processing I just played with adjustment layers and tried the invert one.The negative effect was cool but too surreal so I added a mask and started deleting and adding back parts of the inversion, adjusted levels and curves and boosted contrast, all after converting to black and white with channel mixer. Lots of burning and dodging (had to remember to do the opposite on the inverted sections!) and ended with this, working to mazimize tonality. I wish I could have added more tones to the sky which was originally a plain white/grey, but I'll have to live with this. I really like the shot but may get hammered for it not being Ansel Adams-ish enough. However, if this really was a night shot, I think Adams might have done something along these lines? Maybe not! Whatever the score, this one I like although my B&W entry from several challenges ago would have been a better one, had I been in Arizona this week!

Was this an inferred shot or is the contrast really high in PS? It is interesting because of the huge contrast. You must have really played with the levels.... 6 because it works
