The Interlachen Bridge is single-span, reinforced concrete arch bridge. The bridge is historically significant as an outstanding, virtually unaltered, early example of a reinforced concrete arch bridge employing the patented Melan reinforcing system in Minnesota. Built in 1900 by William S. Hewett, it is the earliest known extant concrete bridge in Minnesota with a documented construction date. The Interlachen Bridge is one of the most significant bridges in Minnesota.
