I like this a lot. I would have liked it a lot better with a stainless colander for the reason that you have a wood counter, natural sunlight, and something else natural looking in the background and the plastic colander just doesn't fit in the otherwise natural looking scene. But, that said, it is a well done photo, nicely composed and excellent use of natural light.
The basic comp is good. Nice color, interesting shadows. The Henkel Knife holder in the bg adds nothing to the photo, other than distraction. Also the upper left corner has something distracting too.
This is worth redoing. I like it. NIce and simple with strong graphics.

Personally I think that the photograph would be improved if the only object in the frame was the strainer. The other kitchen utensils seem to detract from the shot. Nevertheless I think the lighting was superb and made for a very interesting still life.
