Wanted to be the first entry with the Canon SD300. I took this photo while in the hospital for the birth of my daghter Stéphanie (in my arms). Won't do well, but it was a fun shot.

I didnt realize this was you but if I had just seen your sons face before then I might have related a little. :) .. Looks like this pic did good after all 29th place, good job.... congratulations on the new life in the family:)
How nice, Jacko...she looks just like you only smaller and more wrinkly...about the same amount of hair, though. Just kidding...what the hell can I tell from a convex mirror? Good eye, by the way. Also nice to know that you are thinking of photography when you just got another kid...I suppose that's a sign of a true photographer.
Congratulations Jacko!! I remember my daughter's first day like it was yesterday; now she's almost 5. You simply amaze me with the images you've taken. This one is great. 9
I can't believe you got such a clear, well lit picture from a non-SLR camera in the reflection of a hospital convex mirror, so major points for technical difficulty there!
Apart from the technical merits, you really captured an incredible moment and the look on your face makes for one of the best portraits of this challenge.
My initial reaction to this photo was very negative. But I find it clever technically and conceptually. And when I veiw it in context of what it is communicating, I find my opinion of it has improved markedly.
very interesting shot and a great idea...very original. I think it might suffer just a bit because it is out of focus (and no I don't know how you could get sharper focus in a mirror like that) -- I'm not saying it's a bad thing.
given the circumstances, i can't imagine anything more challenging than pulling off this shot. for what it's worth, i wouldn't change a thing. congrats, blessings, and have a 10--on the house!
Terrific idea, masterfully executed as usual. (I mean the photo, although it looks pretty certain that your beautiful new baby was equally well conceived, captured and processed). Congratulations on both counts. 8.
