I like that you described the anemone as "thing."
(they are actually tidal creatures, too, so they're not *really* from the deep. just from the water.)

The line formed by the (stick?) brown thing on the left leaving the top of the frame pulls your eye out of the frame. Also the blurred gray fish is distracting as well.
