This could be painful if one is not careful. I think getting a lower photo laying on your back and shooting upwards would have brought out the barbed wire more. In this photo it blends itself with the background and it's hard to see.

barb wire is a great idea for pain, but this is a photo of a field and a forest to me. Even shooting the same fence against the sky would make it better, more focused on your subject.

Background is a bit too busy, mostly because it is too much in focus. A wider aperture would've been better perhaps?
