For me this is a photograph of a yellow flower and the background is secondary. Hope you don't think I'm being too fussy. The image is superb - love it.
To me, it is yellow and not pink, that is the main colour in this image, so it fails to meet the challenge. Otherwise, composition and technicals are good.
Nice shot of a yellow mum against the pink background. Unfortunately, the challenge was to make pink the focus of your shot. If this was a yellow challenge I would give you an 8, but since it is the pink challenge I will give you a 3.
