Used 2 x 500w halogens through fabric and silver reflector (commonly known as aluminium foil staple to a sheet of cardboard). I also discovered that nail polish will soak through 3 sheets of paper and strip the varnish off a table when left for about 30 minutes! Whoops!

I get it, It's a blood orange! The blood is convincing. I know this is an almost ridiculous quibble, but it looks like a cheap knife - one that could not cut through a tomato. And this makes me fear it ever-so-much less. This loss of respect for the instrument causes the photo's impact to unravel quickly. As a rule I hate gore in photos, but the humor - intended or not- makes up for this.
Hmmm....must admit it's a small stay sharp knife! I figured a machete may be a little large! Thanks for the tip!

Powerful...I'm curious to know how many people catch the historical side of it (you'd be amazed at how many people don't know basic American history). Anyway, I like it.
After the recent movie title competition, I would love to never see an orange in a photo again. Still, this is a good picture, technically. I don't see much of the emotion of pain in it.
