Taken at the annual Autorama indoor car show at Cal Expo. I brought out a little more pink, a slight crop, cloned out some background clutter on the left, and resized. I prefer seeing it with all the highlights and glare spots - for me, it gives it the dazzle & energy; but I also know that I will get scored low for this.

Kylie, your a car buff, it seems based on whats in your profile, i think your shots are great, escpecially this pink one, what do you think of this one? It was taken by my son....
I'd hitchhike to California if I thought you could make a picture of me look that good. My chassis has changed designs many times over; pictorial history needs updating.
There is a major difference between "Old" and "Classic" - you seem to have a talent for capturing the better of the two.

PS: There was no surprise in discovering that you receive one of the largest numbers of comments. Terrific portfolio.
I think your chosen exception to the cloning rule was well deserved based on the outcome of the image. Nice work; a truly exciting view...very appropriate for the subject matter.
Thank you! I hardly do any editing because I am so weak at it, and I think I am just obstinate that way! I cloned out the part of the floor showing that bothered some, but didn't like it that "clean" and put it back in! lol

I PM'd you also, but thought I'd leave a comment here, too. It is fine to remove "minor distractions" in a "member" challenge, but big no-no in an "open" challenge.
Congratulations on your well deserved Red Ribbon, Kylie!!! You take the most beautiful car pictures I've ever seen. I've no doubt you'll soon be adding many more ribbons to your collection!
Kylie, congratulations! Whoever said good guys finish last hasn't seen your wonderful photos. I was really hoping this one would ribbon. You're a wonderful part of the DPC community. Enjoy!
Picked this as a top 3 right of the bat. Excellent use of the color, effective lighting, and gives the flavor of another era. Guess I'm gonna have to plunk down my $25 some day.....
The highlights and glare spots were beautiful, as was the photo in its entirety. It seemed a bit too sharp for me, but then that's just my preference for softness.
Great job!
Just in from work and noticed your success...I`m absolutely delighted for you.
Thoroughly deserved and long overdue.
105 comments..........WOW what it is to be popular :)
I'm at work with a few minutes to spare so I had a quick peek at the site, as soon as I saw the second place winner I knew it was yours having seen your car shots before.
Well done, I know you did for you not the ribbon, bet it feels good anyway!!
Kylie, I've been without internet at home so just saw this when I got to work this AM. I am soooooo happy for you! This was a great photo and a well-deserved ribbon. Congratulations.
Congratulations!!! Look at all those nines and tens. Your images is stunning and you deserve this ribbon. Way to go, Kyle!!! I am looking forward to seeing more of your amazing work!
Congrats! You beat me to a ribbon! Cheers to you!!! I am so happy for you. This is an excellent photo and I am glad that people recognize your talent!!! :)
Cograts on the well deserved ribbon. I didn't vote on this challenge but when I saw this image on the front page I was blown away, this is a classic auto shot.
Congrats on your first ribbon! Looking at your portfolio, I'm forced to wonder, "How the heck did you get a 4 in Planes, Trains and Automobiles?" Cars is your thang. ;-)
I sincerely am amazed, astounded and dumbfounded!!!!! THanK YOU. I may not be able to thank everyone personally right away, but believe me, I really appreciate all the support and warmth here for me. Thanks!!!!
Yiippppeeeeeeee, I am soooooo thrilled for you!!
That is one fantastic photo and you totally deserve that ribbon.
Well done, girlfriend, and big big hugs!
Kylie, I had a feeling this one was yours! I remembered the crayola cars.
Congrats on your ribbon - this was spectacular.
(You and U2 are winners tonite - how apropos!)
Dang! This one jumps off the page! Nice departure from all the florals too.
Heck, I'd get in touch with my feminine side and drive this gem - nicely composed shot too!
I like the composition on this one. The color is beautiful as well. The reflections are pretty distracting, especially on the lower right fender. The largest one keeps pulling my eye away from the grill and headlights, which I would think are the focal point. There are also some distracting reflections in the grill. That being said, it's still a nice shot. At least it isn't a flower. ;o)
The best car shot in the bunch (if not the only car shot in the bunch). Very well done, nice orientation and composition, look at that baby shine! Super job!
Wow! What a beauty! It's just an opinion offered to be helpful, not critical -- but I think the composition might have been a little stronger if it had been cropped more on the left leaving the car to fill the frame. Best of luck!
Wow I just love Old cars. You have captured the moment and makes me feel as if I am there. Hard to take a photograph in this kind of lighting but you did it. I love the reflections, color, lighting, and DOF. And a great job at keeping the chrome real, it stands out. What a beautiful pink tone. Good luck in the challenge 9!
This is extremely loveable, and lovingly rendered. The angle is a littlke awkward for me, which keeps it a notch below 10. I'd have cloned out the bumper mount and the bit of floor lower left, this would have helped quite a bit for me.
