Editing: Crop, levels, increase saturation on the red channel, resize, use blur tool to even out background, select bright areas on two roses, reduce brightness on these areas, add small 75% transparent white border of 3 pixels, save for web.
These roses are from Wal-Mart - I almost didn't get them as someone took my cart while it was parked (the roses were the only things in it). I had to search the whole store to find them again, someone had stuck them on top of a shelf full of old movie DVD's. They were the only pink ones in the flower section so I couldn't get any others.
After I edited this picture on Friday night I thought it was pretty and sent it in to the Powershot picture of the day contest. Heard back today (Sunday) that it will be the Powershot Picture of the Day on Feb 11th - during the pink challenge. Hopefully, that will bring me good luck instead of bad. The only other flower picture I've submitted was to the best of 2004 and it did very poorly.
