I don't expect this to do well, but that's okay. None of my pictures do.
The creativity here isn't so much in the photography as the setup: the DSC-V1 doesn't allow for a whole lot of in-camera customization, so I did what I could. To make this image, I took a blank piece of paper and put little gunpowder balls from leftover 4th of July fireworks onto it, and then lit them with a stick of incense. When they exploded, they left behind the ghost images that you see here.
Inversion of color was done in-camera. Postprocessing was limited to adjusting the levels and running the thing through NeatImage.

this is a great image, I ranked it very high and thought it would place much higher. 2s, 3s, and 4s baffle me. Congrats on a terrific piece of creative work, well executed.
This was one of the few images that confounded me. The end effect is just spectacular. My congratualtions for finishing in the top 20 and my congratlations for presenting a unique image. Very well done!
Was hoping to make the top 10... but just missed it! Doh! There were a lot of great submissions to this challenge, and I can't complain about #12, which is definitely my best so far. It's not really so bad that I still have ribbons to covet :)
PRetty cool, although it looks more like an experiment, rather than a finished product. I would still be curious to see how this was done. I hope it's not a shot of a monitor or something to that extent.
This is cool, but more somthing new than innovative technique I feel. Although this is impossible to tell before reading the comments which I feel is daft.
It look's great ... Don't know how you did it, but if you have somehow photographed another image or something it's not your merit.
Ok ... I understand that you did it somehow. Congrats. can't give you less than 10 :) ... good luck.
Awesome :) How did you get time with Hubble's camera?! j/k :) This one's going in my favorites right now. I'll be interested to read about your setup later.
All of us are thinking, "no way". We had no idea that DPC fans live on the international space station. We'll look forward to hearing your story. Great exposure of the celestial realm. "The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands!" 10
