15 second exposure and used the stand from my fiber optic christmas tree as a 'flash light'...
the first 10 seconds I waved the character in the air using the light and an envelope to cover it whilst moving it (imagine taking the pen of the paper) then i put on the light (had a switch right in front of me) and held a pose for the last 5 seconds. Fun stuff

Nico: This is an exceptional creative light painting. One of the best I have seen because of the cool balance between subject and light. You are quite a creative young man. Keep it up and keep outdoing yourself.
Painting with light has been done many times (even within this challenge), but you've actually made something out of the light while still maintaining an interesting background. Brilliantly executed, despite some minor artifacts. One of my top picks- I hope you ribbon! 10
very good shot, charged with emotion. Nice departure from extremely clean, supersharp but a little magazine ad-like images so popular on DPC. one of my ribbon picks. good luck.
Great use of light painting technique, the best in this "breaking new ground" challenge. The human behind the scene adds that above and beyond quality to this photo, a strange mix of vulnerability, pain and ecstasy, all of which are sure signs of the difficult yet rewarding work of peacemaking. 10
