Colorado Bridge, Pasadena. Known as the "suicide bridge" for the number of Depression era jumpers.
Before the historic Colorado Street Bridge was built in 1913, crossing the Arroyo Seco was an arduous task. Horses and wagons descended the steep eastern slope, crossed the stream over a smaller bridge, and then climbed up the west bank through Eagle Rock Pass. The graceful curves of the Colorado Street Bridge resulted from difficulties in finding solid footing in the Arroyo bed. Engineer John Drake Mercereau conceived the idea of curving the bridge, thereby creating a work of art.
The Colorado Street Bridge stands 150 feet high and extends 1,468 feet. The bridge was closed in 1989 after engineers declared it structurally weak. Every inch of its silhouette was retained and the bridge was reopened in 1994 following a $27.4 million renovation.

Another lovely shot - there're too many this week, I can't choose! One thing though - is your lens/glass a bit dirty? There are a few dark spots in this shot ...
I really loved this image. The shape of the bridges supports are interesting and the line of the railings leads the eye into the shot. I also like the colour combination of the brickwork and iron railings. If I have one criticism, the depth of field looks wrong to me, with the near part of the bridge out of focus. Nevertheless, I liked it.
I really enjoy the angle of this, but the post in the foreground is SO prominent that it takes away from the rest of the bridge. I could see this photo cropped without the post and presented as a tall and skinny image to balance out the depth of the bridge.
Hmm. Really nice shot. Wonder if you could have gone further back for a shot of the whole side of the bridge. I really like the way you've got the iron railing running along the top. Good colour on the brickwork too.
While this is an intersting shot, the concrete pillar on the left draws my eye far too much. If it had been cropped this picture would have had much more visual impact.
IMO, this would have been a much better picture if tha pillar on the left had not gotten in the way. You were not haging over the side when you took this, i hope
I would have given a better note if the image would have been titled a little.
The vertical part of the bridge should be parrallel to the side of the picture.
