Challenge:Bridges (Classic Editing) Camera:Nikon Coolpix 995 Location: San Francisco, Ca. Date: Mar 7, 2003 Aperture: f8 ISO: 200 Shutter: 1/60 Date Uploaded: Mar 7, 2003
My first time walking across the Golden Gate Bridge. Shot from the Marin (North) side facing S.F. in mid/late afternoon. Not the typical GGB shot and I was fascinated by the beauty of the bridge's undergirding.

Golden Gate Bridge Underbelly

Critique by Silver Fox
Composition is splendid with a great depth of field.
The photograph does not really show a bridge per se, but in my humble opinion should still qualify for the Challenge.
The visual impact of your photograph is very good due to the overall Focus and Sharpness of the architecture and color of the various patterns that we are able to see. You’ve captured great detail of a bridge that we would not normally get to see. As I stop to really look at this photograph I suddenly saw that workman standing on the walkway halfway down the bridge.
The colours of your photograph are really noticeable, from the reds to the oranges to the grays to whites.
As I said before, the only thing I could find wrong was that your horizon was off by the tiniest bit but it’s pretty hard to carry a level around in our pocket when we go out to shoot photos.
Don’t worry about your score. This is only your first entry. Get out, shoot some more, enter some more Challenges, have some fun, shoot some more, that’s what life is all about.
Wow, what color, what great intricate architecture. It looks like Reds, oranges, Grays, What a fantastic colorful photograph. And the depth! And the shadows!
The strength that this represents. . . The only tiniest little mistake - your horizon was off by the smallest amount - but who cares. . . Congratulations!
My natural curiousity about how things work makes me like this shot. Don't often see this side of the Golden Gate Bridge. Great color with the orangy structure standing out against the beige girders and the bright background.
This is a nice architectural shot.. the lines and diagonals are excellent.. In my opinion, this is not the best photo for a 'bridge' theme because the bridge is not visible in the photo. What we see here doesn't really prepresent a 'bridge'... - setzler
