Nice concept, good abstraction. You left in only the elements that are absolutely necessary to understand the shot. But why the shallow DOF? The 'male' shoes are just as important as the other pair. They should be in focus. A larger image width would have been good. 7.
Very interesting photo. The technical quality is very high.
The shoes, the wonderful shoes (shoes is to cheap a word for such footwear) tell their own story this way, just like your title says. The woman, in focus, seems to invite the man, out of focus, to dance. The woman has already stepped onto the dance stage, while the man seems to move out of the shadows to join her.
No wonder that I like the positioning and use of shadows and dof. The chessboard floor adds a lot of perspective and goes well with the shoes. Very good.
