Taken June 23,2004 in Cameron, NY. Some kind of Skipper, although the exact species has been debated. Cropped, adjusted hue, saturation, brightness and contrast. Chased this little bugger across the field trying to get a good shot of him. I finally got 3 that were keepers. this was my favorite of the bunch. It was difficult to choose what shot to enter as my best of 2004. I have 30-40 that I really love... most because they were my first decent attempts at a praticular skill with this camera. This one just stood out.

Doesn't grab me, as it's a pretty common theme. To make something like this really pop there needs to be something about it that is unusual (or unusually beautiful) for this type of shot, whether it be in the light, what the creature is doing, etc.
this is a nice entry. i hope this doesn't get overlooked in this monster challenge, and that viewers will give it the time necessary to appreciate it. good luck in this challenge, and in 2005, as well!
The DOF is so narrow in this picture that the insect is out of focus...the picture would have been alot better if it had been in focus. Nice pic though.
