 it was cold outside and the flower opened that day, I took the the shot and it came out just as it looked.

Soft colors but sharp focus where you need it -- good DOF with a lot of the flower in focus but little else.

this is beautiful. the colors are very, very soothing. somehow, though, i think the far background is a bit of a distraction; those lines really take away from enjoying the simple beauty of the flower. but, that's just my opinion. you have a wonderful image, and i hope it does well for you in the challenge. good luck!

Using on the natural light dulls the richness of the flowers colours. Some additional light might have puched this up and enhanced the result. I like the DOF.

Certainly is soft, and certainly is pretty. As far as flower shots go (admittedly not my favourite genre) this is a very solid one.
