Beautiful shot of a beautiful bird. That's a Red-bellied Woodpecker. I know how hard it is to get a good shot of one of these guys because I've tried it; without the success you've had with this image. They seem to have a habit of moving around to the far side of the tree whenever I see them.
I think this is perfect bokeh, as distinct from just shallow depth of field and blurry background. It's also an awesome shot! How do you get all these terrific bird shots??
