Managed to get this egg to stand on it's end on a piece of black construction paper, and lit it using an almost worn out flash light. The light was very orange. Used a long (3 sec) exposure time to light the subject. Levels and USM in PS.

Sweet stuff, excellent light work to turn an egg into a sunset. IMO, it would be even more striking if the bottom was cutoff to represent the horizon, but I guess you wanted to still show shape of the egg. 8
