 This was a quick shot of a Jaguar cub playing with mother. There was not much time to compose this shot. They had been racing and chasing each other all of the grassy/rocky area. From my archives of March 2004.

It takes a moment to take the entire shot in because the jaguar's markings really blend the mother and cub together, but once I saw what was going on I fell in love with the moment you captured. DOF looks good to me considering they weren't exactly posing for you :) Big cats aren't always the best models, but they certainly make for fascinating photos. Anyway, I just wanted to say I think it's fab, even with the slight blurring of the cub, it just goes to show that little ones in any species never keep still :)

I think you salvaged this one pretty well. A better angle would help to give a better view of the cub, but given the subjects you had to work with that's asking a lot.

Beautiful animal shot. The only thing that works against you is their camouflage which blends them both together.
