I grew up in Venice Beach and shoot there as often as possible. Venice has such a unique lifestyle and you come across interesting people like this all the time.

I am new here, but this was my pick for first. I am still learning what makes a good picture technically but I know how I felt when I saw this. Great shot!
Happy go lucky. I really like the facial expression on the man and the dog only adds to the overall enjoyment ofthe picture. One of my favorites. Great capture.

such a nice shot, at core. Oversharpened by a great deal, to the point of producing a halo between figure and ground. the slightly off-center cropping isn't working for me; all that space on the right is not helping the picture. I wish it were a bit more centered, and especially that I could see all of the basket.

I absolutely love this shot. Probably because it makes me think of people I know! The black and white is the perfect choice. This shot, like a few others in the challenge, actually leaves me with so many questions - wanting to know their "story". Also, I just noticed the border - classic and understated it complements the photo well.
