Well, this is my favorite out of all the photos i took last year... i know this was posted in a forum previously. Anyway, here goes.
This was taken during the 3-20 worldwide demonstrations. This in particular was a demonstration against sending Korean troops to Iraq. Close to a million, Koreans and some foreigners alike, took part in the event on the streets of Seoul.
Thank you all for your kind comments. Anyway, i try not to let the scores bother me... the comments are worth much more. Thank you all for your support.
This was one of my favorite shots -- am surprised it did not do a hell of a lot better. I gave it a 10... it's a great example of photojournalism, and an image one can easily imagine seeing in LIFE or TIME... Great shot.
Very interesting composition, especially with the one boy being central to the point of focus, and seems to be the only one looking in this direction. ((7))
The near eye contact and focus on the relatively still central figure, surrounded by people in motion, draws the eye in from all directions, almost like zooming-in during exposure.
Amazing how this photo 'works'. Somehow it is very active, like it is alive and all the motion seems to be directed to the one person who is perfectly in focus. I love it how you captured his expression in this sea of people. He is the one standing out of the crowd and you caught it. The shallow DOF and wide view works so well. Great shot.
this has to be one of the few lens-baby images that has given me a pause to think that it was put to good use (and if it's not a lens-baby image, i'm even MORE impressed). however you did it, this is an amazing capture, and i hope it does well for you.
Really dramatic image. The way you have managed to catch that one boy in focus and looking at something completely different to the rest of the crowd is terrific, and renders the image tremendously impactful.
The boy in the centre is a very nicely isolated face and provided a nice balance to the shot, but I would have preferred for more of the photo to have been in focus as well. Good effort!
The more Iook at this, the more Ilike it. The single face just to the right of center, lookign at the camera, makes the picture. without it, it's basically a blah show. But it's there, and everything int he picture revolves around this indvidually. Beautifully-done. I suspect youw eren't sure about submitting this one, and I'm glad you did.
