Right... Was testing my new fog machine on my bedroom's balconies with a friend of mine(Kjartan Dór) and got this idea for this challenge. The blurry thing in the background are trees across the smoke filled street.
Bownes Esprit 500 flash with a softbox, EF 50mm F1.8
Post process: curves, hue/saturation, burn, dodge, blur and cloning.
Just yet another portrait. Cheers.
Ps. I'm not always nasty, just sometimes ;-)

Edit: Note that it's not me on the photo, it's my friend Kjartan Dór. He's the "hottie" (His mobile: +354 6909990) ;-)
Thanks for all the comments.
Cheers,

Brilliant photograph, among the best portraits I have ever seen, especially like the 1:1 ratio crop instead of the 3:2 you got out of your camera, good call on that one. I didn´t vote in this challenge since I have been rather busy but I would have given it a 10 and as far as I am concerned, the best photo won this challenge.
Steinar - this is great stuff (all thanks to that fog machine obviously) - nicely intense and a great sense of 'is he/isn't he?'. You've got a future as a model at least if not a rather poor photographer.
; )
The mood is quite fitting here. The model's expression is very mysterious and dark, especially the way he challenges the camera with his piercing eyes. The swirling fog adds the right amount of mystique as well. Bumping up.
His face looks to smooth to make him look really nasty, on the other hand the guy from 'Cruel Intentions' looked babyface but was nasty. So what the heck, sod it, you should be nicer dude!
I like it how the light falls on the face and how the balance is between the lit side and the shadow side. In this setting the frontal portraiture works very well. The smoke or fog makes it look very interesting.
Wow, not sure it fits the challenge, but a fantastic photo of a very handsome fellow. I want to know how you achieved the background look..love the way the coat and background are fuzzy and the face is in focus. The light coming over the shoulder on the right is a really great touch...helps give it more punch. One of the best portraits I have seen on DPChallenge
Yeeps... don't want to meet him on a dark street at night. ;) One itty bitty complaint - I wish all his hair were showing. But this is still a 10 in my book.
editing for the second time.....
great fog around!!, dramatic face expression. light colors, nice face contrast, combines the sense of a street taken shot with the quality of a studio.
you deserve a 10.
incidentally I found your website steinar.... how the f**k can you have such excellent images in there being only 19?? congrats, great work.
I probably shouldn't give it a high score because you're a hottie (this is you, right?), but I can't help it. Luckily it's also well shot and the smoke effect is really cool. Well done.
Great blue tones, great strong expression and I really like the fog around him.
I probably would have cropped a bit more of the hair or show his total head. In my top 3.
sweet shot! Looks like you might need to work on smiling though ;)
What is that, a Russian naval officer's coat? I like it.
My only beef with the shot, and it's a pretty minor one, is that the upper right corner is a little distracting for me. For some reason my mind keeps wanting there to be a little more symetry between the two sides, but that's only minor.
Wow...now there's some eye candy, but it's difficult to relate the photo to the challenge without the title. Still, I think it's a great photo (really really nice to look at) so I'll give you an 8
great portrait. lighting could be slightly more contrasty/dramatic in order to emphasize the good/bad halves (that i assume you are trying to convey), but that's only a matter of personal taste.
